Vigjilenca Abazi is a postdoctoral researcher at the Faculty of Law and research coordinator for the Centre of European Research in Maastricht (CERiM). She completed her PhD at University of Amsterdam. During this period, she was also a Fulbright Visiting Scholar at Columbia Law.

Her research focuses on EU constitutional and institutional law, particularly on how practices of secrecy affect democratic scrutiny at the European Union. Additionally, secrecy in negotiations, intelligence cooperation, and security policies in the EU feature among her substantive interests. She has published, among others, in Common Market Law Review, German Law Journal and Utrecht Law Journal.

Vigjilenca Abazi is a Social Media Editor of the Journal of European Integration and has experience as an Associate Managing Editor for European Constitutional Law Review.

Johan Adriaensen is a postdoctoral researcher at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and research coordinator at the Center for European Research in Maastricht (CERiM). He completed his PhD at the University of Leuven and has been a guest professor at the University of Antwerp.

His research interests encompass international political economy, institutions of the European Union and the scholarship on teaching and learning. He is the author of ‘National Administrations in EU Trade Negotiations’ and is co-editing (with Tom Delreux) a book on the ‘Principal-Agent Model in EU politics’ (both forthcoming with Palgrave).

Johan is also the Reviews Editor of the Journal of European Integration.
